NUTRITIONAL
TESTING

Nutrition Testing is a non-invasive system of analyzing the body to determine the underlying causes of ill health. When these are corrected through safe, natural, nutritional means, the body can repair itself to attain and maintain more optimum health.

LABORATORY
TESTING

Laboratory tests are often part of a routine checkup to look for changes in your health. They also help doctors identify medical conditions, and serve as the foundation of nutritional therapies to track the progress of treatment plans.

NUTRITIONAL & HERBAL
SUPPLEMENTATION

Take the guesswork out of your nutritional journey. Let Functional Wellness and Chiropractic Center devise a personalized nutrition program to help you on your path to better health and overall performance with proper diet and supplementation.

BIOIMPEDANCE ANALYSIS (BIA)
BODY COMPOSITION ANALYSIS

BIA stands for Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis, and is a quick and painless way to measure your body composition. Body composition means the different structures or parts of your body, and can measure body fat in relation to lean body mass. The BIA can measure and track changes in the amounts of body fluids, fat, and lean body mass, which includes your muscles and organs. If you have had any recent weight changes, getting a BIA done can help you find out what is going on inside your body.

NUTRITIONAL / FUNCTIONAL
MEDICINE

Nutritional and herbal supplementation can be a powerful tool in helping patients overcome debilitating conditions that have often lasted for decades. Nutritional insufficiencies, toxicity, and metabolic issues are often the underlying cause of a patient’s condition. This approach is often extremely effective with people who have had little to no luck with other approaches to their condition.

SALIVARY PH
TESTING

The salivary pH test is used to assess chronic metabolic acidosis. Lemon juice and water are consumed, and salivary pH readings are taken for 5 minutes to determine bicarbonate buffers in the body.

SALIVA HORMONE
TESTING

Saliva testing is an easy and noninvasive way of assessing hormone balancing needs, and is proving to be the most reliable medium for measuring hormone levels. Unlike serum tests, saliva testing represents only hormones actively delivered to receptors in the body. Clinically, it is far more relevant to test these bioavailable hormones and provide an accurate reflection of the body’s active hormone levels.

ZINC STATUS
TEST

Zinc status (Zinc Tally) is a simple screening method for evaluating zinc status. By placing two teaspoons of Zinc Tally in the mouth, a lack of taste or a delayed taste perception suggests a possible zinc insufficiency. An immediate taste perception suggests zinc status may be adequate.

SOFT TISSUE THERAPY

SOFT TISSUE
THERAPY

Patients with pain or loss of motion from injuries, surgery, bad posture, repetitive stress conditions or trauma have found Soft Tissue Therapy to be very beneficial. Soft Tissue Therapy is a safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying pressure to muscles, myofascial, and tendons to eliminate pain and restore motion.

KINESIOLOGY
TAPING

Kinesiology taping is a definitive rehabilitative taping technique that is designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process while providing support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the body’s range of motion as well as providing extended soft tissue manipulation to prolong the benefits of manual therapy administered within the clinical setting.

PROPRIOCEPTIVE NEUROMUSCULAR
FACILITATION (PNF)

Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) is a more advanced form of flexibility training that involves both the stretching and contraction of the muscle group being targeted. PNF stretching was originally developed as a form of rehabilitation, and to that effect it is very effective.

FUNCTIONAL & KINETIC
TREATMENT WITH REHAB (FAKTR)

Functional and Kinetic Treatment with Rehab (FAKTR) is a unique approach to patient care that involves not only IASTM (instrument-assisted soft tissue manipulation), but that utilizes many manual and instrument-assisted soft tissue techniques and incorporates functional rehabilitation through provocation and movement.

INSTRUMENT ASSISTED
SOFT TISSUE MASSAGE (IASTM)

Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) is a therapeutic technique that uses specific applied instruments to promote mobilization of restricted tissue. Restricted or adhered myofascial tissue and/or scar tissue are the primary tissues addressed with its application.

MUSCULAR REHABILITATION

Muscular rehabilitation is a program that incorporates components of strength, endurance, flexibility and speed that is specific to your activities of life, ranging from playing with the grandkids to high intensity sports.

NERVE
FLOSSING

Nerve flossing is a specialized way of easing neural tension in different parts of the body. The process, also known as nerve mobilization, is sometimes required to mobilize entangled or hypersensitive peripheral and central nerves. These may occur due to overuse of muscles, poor posture and severe injuries.

TRIGGER POINT
THERAPY

Trigger point therapy is a targeted therapy towards tight areas within muscle tissue that causes pain in other parts of the body, known as referral pain. The pain may be sharp and intense or a dull ache.

CHIROPRACTIC
MANIPULATION

Chiropractic Manipulation is the balancing of the physical structures of the body. This includes gentle techniques using blocks, therapeutic instruments and muscle stretches as well as manual adjustments of your spinal joints. Chiropractic Manipulation releases the restricted joint movement by improving biomechanical and neurological function.

APPLIED
KINESIOLOGY (AK)

Applied Kinesiology (AK) is a system that evaluates structural, chemical and mental aspects of health using manual muscle testing combined with other standard methods of diagnosis. The purpose of Applied Kinesiology is to gain insight into communication breakdown in the body. Applied Kinesiology is a key component that allows us to get a complete head-to-toe picture of your health.

NEUROMUSCULAR
RE-EDUCATION (NMR)

Neuromuscular re-education is a technique to restore normal movement by reestablishing communication between the brain and muscles. Together, your nerves and muscles work to produce movements, however, dysfunction can occur resulting in abnormal movement.

CRANIAL
MANIPULATION

Cranial manipulation is a gentle therapy applied to the skull to stimulate healing. This manipulation is particularly effective for structural malposition causing eye, ear, nose, and throat issues.

DIVERSIFIED
TECHNIQUE

The most common technique used by chiropractors, which is characterized by a high-velocity, low-amplitude thrust to a joint. This corrective thrust restores normal motion to the joint, relaxes tight muscles, improves coordination, and inhibits pain when done correctly.

ACTIVATOR
TECHNIQUE

Activator Technique utilizes a handheld device that produces a mechanical force manual assisted (MFMA) force to correct spine and extremity joint malposition. This is regarded as a softer and gentler chiropractic treatment technique.

SACRAL OCCIPITAL
TECHNIQUE (SOT)

Sacral Occipital Technique (SOT) is an adjustive chiropractic technique that primarily focuses on the relationship of the sacrum and pelvis to the occiput. This technique focuses on adjusting patterns of the body, rather than just single body parts.

VISCERAL
MANIPULATION

Visceral Manipulation focuses on releasing fascial restrictions in the patient's abdomen and pelvis to encourage normal movement and function of organs.
